Steady in the Storm

Steady in the Storm

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” – Romans 12:12

Life has a way of testing us. The highs feel fleeting, and the lows can feel overwhelming. But in one short verse, Paul gives us a rhythm for walking through it all:

  • Be joyful in hope. Not because everything is perfect, but because we trust the One who holds tomorrow.
  • Be patient in affliction. Struggles will come—on the course and in life. Patience is choosing not to give up when it’s uncomfortable.
  • Be faithful in prayer. Prayer is more than a ritual; it’s the steady lifeline that keeps us grounded when everything else shifts.

Golf teaches the same balance. You celebrate the good shots with joy, grind through the tough holes with patience, and stay consistent in your approach no matter what the scorecard says.

Romans 12:12 reminds us that faith isn’t about avoiding the storms—it’s about standing steady in them. Joyful, patient, and faithful.

So this week, let’s keep our hope anchored in Him, endure what challenges us, and stay faithful in prayer. Because when our posture is steady, our faith grows stronger.
