Love Without Conditions

Love Without Conditions

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

 – Romans 5:8

Most love in this world is earned.

Do the right things, say the right words, and you’re accepted. Mess up, and that love can fade.

God’s love isn’t like that.

Romans 5:8 tells us that He loved us at our worst. Before we cleaned up our act. Before we could prove our worth. Before we even wanted Him, Christ went to the cross for us.

That’s not love based on performance. That’s love based on who He is.

On the course, we can be quick to judge our game by the bad shots. In life, we can do the same with our value, measuring it by our failures. But God sees the whole round. He knows the mis-hits and the wins, and still calls us His.

This week, let this truth sink in:

You don’t have to earn God’s love. You just have to receive it.

Because He loved you before you even looked His way.
